Three or four times each week, Mosquito Control Services surveillance stations update data on adult insects and mosquito populations and their movement. This allows crews to target efforts with both ground and aerial spray units. Our “State of the Art” application equipment is computer and GPS controlled for both effective and precise adulticiding treatments. We operate a fleet of more than 50 fully-equipped, truck-mounted, Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayers that are checked prior to each use to ensure proper function and calibration. Each vehicle uses a Radar/GPS guidance system that adjusts the product flow depending on the speed of the vehicle and records all relevant spray information to our office database. Safety is an important concern when controlling adult mosquitoes by aircraft. As a result, Mosquito Control Services uses only turbine powered, twin engine, Beechcraft King Air airplanes for our aerial fleet. These powerful aircraft are extremely reliable and exceed all FAA guidelines for low-level spray applications. Additionally, each of our flight crews includes two certified pilots and at least one observer using military-grade night vision goggles for optimal safety during our low altitude evening spray missions.
